Wouldn’t think the water would be that cold and if so, thought sharks preferred warmer water? (signed: looking for Colorado condos now). Due to its density and its good thermal contact with your skin water is supposed to take heat out of you eight times faster than air. Water doesn't have be that cold to suck heat out of you faster than you can make it. As for sharks liking warmer water there are a lot of kinds of sharks. Some sharks like living in deep very cold water. Great whites, a shark that might eat you, can handle cold water. Bull sharks and Tiger sharks, sharks even more likely to bite you, only like warm waters. These are solitary so they likely weren't the "sharks" they were fighting off in the story. Maybe it was Blue sharks. They didn't want to eat them but were getting excited and curious about the wounded guy's blood.

Maybe it was Blue sharks. Another article that came into my feed about this said it was black tipped sharks.

Sometimes it's the simplest things. This repair process is easy and just makes sense. I would never have thought of it. (Over 3,000,000 views in just three weeks.)

Those are some cool fixes. You can also often fix a stripped screwhole in wood with a golf tee and wood glue. Just pour in some glue drive in the golf tee until it’s tight. When the glue has died, cut it off flush and drill a new hole.

Golf tees have a nice taper that allows you to get a good fit. Chopsticks, too..

as well the whole bear thing: My question is... why is the bear up there anyway? I realize its free to go where it wants but at the peak there is no water, berries maybe?

It was THIS big... www.cnn.com/2022/10/18/world/heaviest-bony-fish-intl-scli-scn/index.htmlA giant sunfish believed to be the world’s heaviest bony fish has been discovered in the Azores archipelago, Portugal, weighing a whopping 2,744 kilograms (3 tons).
The animal was 3.25 meters (10.67 feet) long and had a height of 3.59 meters (11.78 feet). Measured around its center (mid-body), it had a maximum width of 86 centimeters (2.82 feet), researchers said.

Here in Greater Yellowstone bears, mostly grizzlies in my experience, go above treeline in later summer/early fall to gorge on Army Cutworm Moths. They turn over rocks for hours/days on end. I've gone way out of my way to steer clear of sows with cubs up on the south Absaroka Front East of Grand Teton National Park in the end of September several times. From what I could see the climber was heading towards the bear so like most bear "attacks" this appears to me to be more of a defensive maneuver by the bear.
