15 year old me, in 1986, saw a package in the store that I had to have. It was an "ultralight, ultra-packable, emergency bivy" that was "durable enough for those weekend adventures." When I got it home and opened it, I found it really was an extra long 55 gallon drum liner. I used it once...wet without rain best describes my night. I slept exactly as well as I would think anyone would sleep inside a thick plastic bag. I believe we ended up using it as a garbage bag.

I'll me-too jazzmom 's, but for me it's EVERY BACKPACKING PILLOW I've ever tried, and there have been many. Inflatables, puffies, fancy ones, pretty ones, paper ones. I started using an inflatable for the first time this summer. It's not perfect by any means, but I do find it an improvement over my puffy stuffed in a stuff sack. Plus, on really cold nights, I discovered it's nice to spread the puffy out over the lower part of my quilt for a little extra foot warmth.
