And like everyone else I went thru a Clif Bar phase and burned out of course. Like with Go Macro bars, Clif bars turn into rocks at cold temps but the solution is to use my Felco trailworking pruners and cut them into bite sized squares for thawing in-mouth placement.
Here's a bag of cut up GoMarcro bars and forgot to mention Plant Based Think(thin) bars---another fave.

Two other bars I "experienced"---and burned out on---
Oh and let's not forget POWER BARS!!
These will extract teeth in winter unless cut apart with pruners.

On my last trip, I was really happy with Taos Bakes, especially the Gingersnap + Pecan, Pinon Coffee + Dark Chocolate, and Pecan Praline + Maple Syrup. www.taosbakes.com/collections/allI also like the Bobo's Oat bars. I've tried just about everything else. I can barely choke down a Clif Bar anymore, but they'll do in a pinch. Larabar is similar. The first Bear Valley Pemmican bar I ate seemed wonderful. Every one after that was hard to finish.

+1 for Bobo's. Kate's too. Tried One bars recently and liked those a lot. Enjoy Lara too but need to keep track of higher fiber intake.

I started out back in 1980 with these I haven't had or even thought of Wa Guru Chews in decades. It was the first trail snack I ever had. My backpacking mentor introduced me to them in 1979. There were great unless it was cold out. Then you could break a tooth when trying to bite into one. Thanks for the memory.

Maybe all hikers could be pure like Paul Atreides skipping around the planet in a zero emissions suit on a diet of spice and desiccated mouse jerky. And blow up stuff with your breath. -My thoughts during a raging discussion how impure and nasty the universe of food bars is on another forum.
