I'm trying to plan a one to two night BPing Spring Break trip with my kids. I want to get them used to hiking long distances, but I don't want to discourage them too much, so I'm looking for easy to moderate trails in AL, GA, or TN. Dog friendly would be a plus also just in case I decide to take one of mine. What are your favorite trails and why? Sorry, I'm a little late to the party, but I just joined the forums a week or so ago. Try the Pinhoti Trail in Talladega National Forest (1 hour east of Birmingham). It's beautiful trail with sections ranging from very easy to strenuous. An great section for 10-11 year old kids would be Coleman Lake to Pine Glen. Check out The Pinhoti Trail Alliance on FB.
