I've been doing some research this morning. While some Colorado counties are begining to relax travel restrictions, others have not, so it's important to do your own research before heading out. Here's what I found this morning.
1. Clear Creek Co. All county roads are closed to non-residents. This severely restricts access to trailheads. 2. Gilpin Co. Most roads are open to non-residents EXCEPT those leading to a few popular trailheads, such as the East Portal. 3. Summit Co. has lifted their travel restrictions. 4. Gunnison Co. which was one of the most restrictive is relaxing their restrictions later on this week.
Needless to say, there's still a lot of snow in the high country (see the "Consider the time of year" thread.

Thanks, Lamebeaver . The info I'm seeing on Custer County gives me hope that my planned trip to the Sangres might actually happen.

Do you have any suggestions on where to access this type of info? I usually look in the County and County Sheriffs websites, but some of this information is out of date. The Clear Creek County opening was announced in a local newspaper. The county website still hasn't updated their info.
