current DRs (sil and Li) are wider at the apex than before. 33% wider. franco , does that have much effect on the roof slope at the ends, but off-center? In my '09 Rainbow, I have plenty of length in the center, but if I slide to either side, the lower roof slope can cause my bag to touch. On a related note, I observe that the DR Li's pole goes more vertical at the ends than mine...how much does that improve the roof slope in the corners?

Kayman, please post a review of the tent. I am curious how it handles wind and rain, and condensation.

I don't think it makes much difference at the ends but yes the CF pole bends at a different angle to the Al version and it is a bit more vertical at the start. The software used for the 3D clid does not take that into account so I'll have to ask.

Thanks, franco. Is the peak height the same between the various silnylon versions and the DCF version?

I thought Henry would be having his afternoon nap by now but he sent an instant reply. With the new CF pole curvature, maybe a bit more room during the sit up bit but not laying down .

Think I saw Homemade Wanderlust (Dixie) review this on YouTube last night.

I think the video you mentioned was Dixie switching from the Duplex to the Tarptent SS Li, not the DR Li

I’ve been looking at the Li tents. Even the 2 person Li tents will shave more than a pound off my old BD beta light/beta bug set up. My knees will appreciate that for sure. I’m hoping you guys will twist my arm.

Henry Shires has been fine tuning the design of the DR since 2006 . I think this version is a very sweet shelter at that weight. You will not be able to sleep till you get one.

Franco, I’ve been looking at the aeon Li. But I’m not sure it’s any bigger than a bivy.

I haven't seen a bivy that large , but I haven't seen them all. 6' dummy from the 3D clip, under Usable Volume. There are two video clips . With the second one you can rotated the image however you like. This is a still from it (BTW, most of the TT shelters have those clips)
