I love the picture of your Dog. Does she get on the dinning room table often?

Welcome to the forums. Now for the important questions. Do you like bacon? Wear a kilt or backpack in one? How do you feel about brussel sprouts? Love bacon, my next trip out I'll be making Bacon Brittle for the trail. No but I can wear a kilt to backpack if it saves some weight. Always hated Brussels Sprouts until my wife roasted them and caramelized them, now I can eat them but only roasted. Now Lima beans I can't eat in any form.

Welcome. You are one of a number of us who are or were involved in Scouting. Chuck, who we lost a couple of months ago in a fallen tree accident, was a scoutmaster in the Houston area. I'm not active anymore, but used to work in Scout Camps in Oklahoma, Kansas, and for 3 summers during college, at Philmont. That's where I got started backpacking, Quivira Scout Ranch in southeastern Kansas.

Want a great steak? start a chimney of lump pop on a grate and sear the steak right on the chimney! Hey SQWIB, try this. I've done it a couple of times and it was great. Eisenhower style.

Oh my God! I only just saw the BACON BRITTLE... let me catch my breath.... That could, quite possibly, be my ultimate dream food.

Still haven't done the Caveman T-Bones yet, will try it Manday 2015. Gotta love meat and fire. Thanks for the intro. Looks like you're in the Southeast, then? Northeast Philly, PA Oh my God! I only just saw the BACON BRITTLE... let me catch my breath.... That could, quite possibly, be my ultimate dream food. Its real simple to make just need a candy thermometer.
