desert dweller, that looks awfully similar to ours, though we should top out at 106, and it will cool faster into the weekend. We’re outta here, but not soon enough.

We've had seasonably cool highs in the low to mid 80s the last few days: it's so nice to be able to open the windows at night and enjoy being outdoors in the evening.

I did a run to Bozeman this morning. Construction added almost a half hour total in wait time across several different spots. Beautiful morning. Hot up there at noon, bank clock type thing said 90 but don't think it was quite that. On return perhaps 15 minutes of light rain and maybe a minute and a half of heavier stuff just below Teton Pass. Oh yeah, had a real good pollen storm just North of Island Park.

Eastern Oklahoma has gone from wet to dry, June in my cocorahs rain gauge has had a total of .38 with little or none in the forecast. Normal is close to 6 inches for the western Ozarks region.

earthobservatory.nasa.gov/images/146879/heat-and-fire-scorches-siberia Yeah, it's going great, huh? I don't even know what to do or say anymore. On the other hand, my votes comes down to one, maybe two issues these days. Yesterday I posted something similar here.

Four record highs are in danger of being overturned.

We could use some rain here in Chicago after a string of 90ish days since late last week. Alas, I don't think we have much in the forecast. The Drought Monitor, one of my favorite sites, says things are generally copacetic in the Mississippi Valley on east. San Juans and Sangres looking like they are getting pretty dry. Wonder if the Rio Grande del Norte waters will find the Gulf this year.

Looks like we missed most of the cooler spell (low 90s) here and got home in time for the climb back to triple digits. Sigh. Back to early-morning workouts.

Here in Upstate NY, it's only rained 3 days since the beginning of June. Dry, dry, dry. Yards are like concrete.
The record for most consecutive days above 90 is 8. In June, we had a 6-day stretch. We're currently in another 6-day stretch, and it's forecast to be above 90 for the next two days. It's been humid, but not oppressively so (probably because everything is so dry).
We average somewhere around 10 days above 90 each summer, with most occurring in August. So far this year, we've had 16.
Thankfully, I've acclimated well to the heat. I've been bike commuting to/from work nearly every day (I could run in the heat, but prefer to bike as I make my own breeze).

It was windy last evening in the backyard in Tucson. (Four and a half minutes of wind.)

We were one degree from tying our record of most consecutive days of 90 degrees. And we reached the driest spell in 70 years. Then it rained 3" overnight.

Hot enough to fry eggs on a car. More record highs in jeopardy in Tucson.
