I am looking for hiking companions for a backpacking trip starting on or around August 14, 2016, from South Lake via Bishops Pass to Mount Whitney covering approximately 98 miles, over 8 days. I have made the solo trip in the past.

That section of the JMT is one of the finest trails in the world. Lots of very high altitude expansive views, grand engineering over passes (Forester) with commanding views, many opportunities to go off trail and explore places with lakes and passes and peaks you can find with your finger on a trail map, night stars as you may never see again unless you are in clear air at altitude, miles of lakes and bubbling creeks.
It is good bait for you hikerman if you can get anybody to take it.

Thank you Speacock. Yes, I have hiked that trail alone the last two years, unfortunately, fellow hikers dropped out after the first day. Too me, this is the most difficult portion of the JMT. I have calculated one 12,000 FT Pass per day, except for Forester, encompassing eight days of hiking. I would love to stay out longer, however food supplies dictate how many nights out as there is no resupply unless exiting at Kearsarge. If you are interested, or know of anyone that may be interested, I would be thrilled. I live in northern CA and have worked out all transportation issues to/from. I am a 60 yr old male, physically fit, and experienced along the JMT. The solitude of hiking alone can be nice at times, but I would love to share the experience with others. Hike well my friend!
