Just be careful using quantum folders. If you don't know what you're doing, you can easily end up with a piece of gear in some unknown random place in the universe. It's amazing how often I lose lighters that way. This explains so much!! I don’t lose lighters, but I have definitely lost some other things for which there is no other explanation.

Man, I hate it when you have to be a fricking physics major to understand these posts.

Only for special relativity. You'll need tensor calculus (which gave me a headache) for the more general case.

So...should I weigh my digital camera when I hit the trail, when the memory card has no pictures on it, or when I get back home, when the memory card is full of pictures?
If you really want to get anal about reducing your pack weight, and your body weight for that matter, weigh it after climbing to high altitude where you are less affected by earth's gravity.

Do I have to figure in loss of weight as I charge from my pack to my phone? Does the length of my charging chord matter in the loss of electrons?

Do I have to figure in loss of weight as I charge from my pack to my phone? Does the length of my charging chord matter in the loss of electrons? We're talking about pack weight, which may or may not include consumables depending on your definition. In either case, if you keep your phone in your pocket its weight doesn't count. Its weight only counts if you have it in your pack.
