while using every blessed control on the dash, which looks like the control panel of an Airbus A380 I was looking for a new SUV in November 2013. I settled on the Durango, and had test-driven the 2013 model. I then got in the 2014 model and exclaimed to myself "It's like the starship Enterprise!". LOL!

We have 5 of our 21 teachers out. We went back to a hybrid model after numbers started going crazy, but we're seeing the effects of Thanksgiving now. Could get interesting.
My oldest has an unofficial case of it. He won't get tested, but he's got a lot of the symptoms. He doesn't live with us, so I don't have to worry about quarantining.

Well, my son is feeling better, and actually got out for a walk today.
Unfortunately, I am COVID positive. Right now it feels like a bad cold. I have head congestion, a slight fever, some body aches, and my sense of taste and smell are slowly going away. While I can still taste things slightly, they don't taste like they should. I was really hoping to make it to Christmas without having to quarantine. I took out about 6 kids at school with me. I just hope they stay healthy.

foxalo, I hope you, your son, and your students, recover safely. Thanks! I think the students will be fine, but we may have some angry parents, since their kids will have to quarantine, but most have been okay with it. I'm doing my best to isolate from my family, but they definitely have been exposed.

OK. Back to the thread theme: Here's a way that COVID19 is affecting hikers in Yosemite. Quite literally
With the weather remaining sunny and warm, and hikers flocking to the Mist Trail/JMT, the lower Mist Trail will return to a one-way (uphill) route from the lower Mist Trail-JMT junction to the top of Vernal Fall as of Saturday, December 5. The daily restriction on descending the steps from the top of Vernal Fall will be 9 am - 3 pm (this summer it was 9 am - 4 pm).
The intention is to encourage social distancing and prevent passing along narrow stretches of trail. Signs with maps encouraging hikers to travel in a clockwise loop will be posted at the trailhead and the lower Mist Trail-JMT junction, and smaller signs will be posted at other trail junctions along the shorter (Clark Point) loop.

As a single person living alone, it occurred to me for the first time only yesterday, that since the pandemic began, I've not actually touched another human hand or skin in all these 8+ months. ):

5-1/2 weeks, still no taste or smell... As crazy and annoying as this symptom is, I might be okay getting through the holidays with it. No point in over-indulging of you can't taste a thing you eat or drink. I'm only on day 6 of symptoms and day 3 of that particular symptom.

Best of health foxalo beating back your infection.
Because for a week plus, I've been experienced irregular minor sinus issues with insidious barely noticeable post nasal drip that can lead to pneumonia if COVID-19, to be safe, scheduled a nasal swab test that I just came back from. My Medicare provider, Kaiser Permanente will have results back by after next weekend, so will report back. Only other symptom is feeling somewhat odd internally at times.
I skied at Heavenly Valley on November 24, four days after the resort opened, and had to contend with maybe 10% of skiers/boarders in lift lines not pulling their masks up above their noses. Fair numbers of visitors are from Nevada that has higher numbers resistant to compliance. That was in part because the resort had been short handed with personnel for enforcing policies. On a 10 scale, I'd rate going to supermarkets with my 3M P100 mask as a 2, while wearing a common surgical mask I have a box of as 3 or 4 and my ski day as a 7 so was somewhat concerned. Other than that have been reasonably careful never otherwise being indoors with any groups.
My expectation is it is not COVID-19 but rather a type of rhinitis due to colder weather and note my residence tends to be chilly during winter with recent temps 58F to 65F. Interestingly when I wear a warm down balaclava at night it seems to recede while if I don't, it can worsen, which is what I would expect if a virus was involved. I've had a suspicion cold viruses have evolved during recent decades to cause low level sinus infections that most people ignore. And early in this long thread suggested supposed "asymptomatic" cases may actually be causing light symptoms most people are either ignoring barely aware of or are too embarrassed to publicly admit they have knowingly been out in public while possibly contagious that in the case of those employed is the result of needing the income just as many have been doing for years at workplaces.

Note I had a previous negative test in May. As expected that relieves my minor winter rhinitis concerns:
CORONAVIR PAN 2019-NCOV, NAA, QL COVID NOT DETECTED Comment: Nasopharynx/Oropharynx source.
