Does anyone know if the Bridge going over Conness Creek has been replaced? The ranger I talked with didn't seem to know where Conness Creek was. He did not know that there was a bridge going over to Glen Aulin. He kept referring to the 2 bridges you cross over to get to the Glen Aulin general area. He was very confused.

Probably not as of the 2019 season. The wilderness office is usually decent for larger items like bridges etc. that impact safety. www.travelyosemite.com/alerts/2018/glen-aulin-bridge-bypass/The PCTA iirc keeps track of this sort of thing as well. Maybe email the people up there now? The Tuolumne Winter rangers probably had an area overview before being deployed up there.

Does anyone know if the Bridge going over Conness Creek has been replaced? On what trail? I just took a look at the topo on the USGS website and and can't find a trail crossing Conness Creek except for a short, dead end spur trail just after the 2nd PCT crossing of the Tuolumne. Is that the one? The bridges he was talking about were obviously on the Tuolumne River.

The OP mentions “ a bridge going over to Glen Aulin.” And from the sbove concessionaire notice it’s the access bridge over Conness Creek to get to Glen Aulin campground that is called “Conness Creek Bridge” which hikers use to access Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp, That received significant damage from winter floods.
“Important Information for 2019 Hikers Conness Creek Bridge, which hikers use to access Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp, received significant damage from winter floods. Though the National Park Service is working to repair the bridge, it is unlikely to be completed prior to your trip. There is an alternate way to access Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp via crossing the creek. Click here to view a map that indicates a general area that visitors and NPS administrative staff have used safely; but be advised that you should choose a crossing you deem safe within your own abilities and capacity for risk.”

And their linked to map labels the “old bridge site” as that one over Conness Creek.
ETA: "Old Bridge site" sounds like it's a replacement not a simple repositioning back on the foundations? That's a dragged out process: is the bridge on the Rae Lakes loop been replaced? and that's also been years, and it's not being replaced until at least 2021! "Bridge washed out along the Rae Lakes Loop The South Fork Kings River Bridge above Paradise Valley washed out during the winter of 2016-2017. Construction of a replacement bridge will not begin before 2021. Depending on conditions, crossing the South Fork of the Kings River can be extremely hazardous. Observe conditions carefully and then evaluate the risk of crossing. Be prepared to turn back. If you hike the Rae Lakes Loop beginning from Bubbs Creek, plan for the possibility that you may have to backtrack to safely reach Cedar Grove." www.nps.gov/seki/planyourvisit/trailcond.htm

Wow and that delay is shocking for such a popular route as the loop, especially as hazardous as the crossing is in early snowmelt season.

Conness Creek Bridge, which hikers use to access Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp, Yup, same bridge I was referring to. Funny thing is the map I'm looking at doesn't identify it as the GA HS Camp, just a dead end spur trail.

Last time I saw it, it looked like this and I haven't found any info that it has been repaired. (2017)

Yep: I just saw the latest Wilderness Press Top Trails says “destroyed”.
The delays in restoring this infrastructure is disappointing.

Yosemite replied repaired in their FB page to some one asking about that. Wonder how it differed from SeKi and the South Fork Kings River Bridge above Paradise Valley, still out. /?d=n
