Have you seen the new MSR snowshoe binding? Looks great-only problem for me is that I have a perfectly serviceable pair of Lightning Ascents with the old binding; and they look like they have quite a bit of life left.

Wow, it does look interesting.
I have two pairs of different Altas snowhoes, an 11-30's and 12-26's, both from 2010. My 11-30's are starting to show the use. I have raved about both the 11 and 12's on their binding. I can get out them with two flicks of my poles on the release straps unless I have hard ice build-up under the toe plate. They have changed their design a more than I thought looking at their latest page. Both my units are comparable to their current Serrate model. Tubbs has really messed with them on new binding design.
I like the new MSR shoes for maintaining a goodly amount of decking and going with what appears to be a fiddle free tension strap. No cables and gears. I would worry some about the webbing pulling across back and forth on some of my leather boots. I refuse to use Goretex lined boots and depend on good wax treatments. A pair of MSR Denali's with tails were my first adult snowshoes. A young wildlife biologist friend is still pounding snow with them chasing winter Greater Sage-grouse in Montana.
Someone here needs to wring them out for the forums. 10 more days and I will have my "sliding snowshoes" that are going to break my winter gear budget. And it will be awhile longer before I need to replace my Atlas 11-30s.
