My 2nd full day (Thursday) I decided to hike the Courthouse Rock - Auxier Ridge loop. The Courthouse Rock trail drops down to parallel the Auxier Ridge trail, and since the latter has great views and can be combined with the Double Arch trail to make an awesome loop, I had never before hiked the lower Courthouse Rock trail. It was very nice, but would be better when the rhododendrons bloom. However, I did encounter an icicle stained by tree juice, though: The Courthouse Rock trail ascends past of the base of C.R. to many good views from Auxier Ridge: image hostingCourthouse Rock: The ridge with Double Arch, across the valley: Haystock Rock at the end of the near ridge on the right: Auxier Ridge with my shadow: Looking past Haystock Rock to Double Arch:

did ya lick the tree juice? I broke off a piece, put it in my spare water bottle, added some vodka later, then had a very interesting beverage which made me vomit 5 minutes after I drank it.
