I am looking for a few photos of the Porcupine Mountains that I can use freely on my (commercial) website. I am happy to link to / attribute you. Your photos would appear on this page. I promise you that I am not / will not be getting rich off of your pictures, but they would really help. Thanks!

I wouldn't want your request to result in the null set, so here are some of my pics from October 2008. This doesn't come close to capturing all the great scenery we encountered on the 4-day trek along the "Grand Loop" but these are the pics that came out best on the humble camera I carried. Lake of the Clouds just west of the popular overlook (you can see the crowd in the top left): Further west on the Big Carp River Trail, with LOC in the distance: View from east end of the Escarpment, Upper Carp River flows into LOC: Getting closer to LOC: Same as above: Waterfall on Presque Isle River at west end of park: Cascades on Presque Isle River: Sculpted Layers, Presque Isle River: Anaother waterfall on Presque Isle River:

The "Grand Loop" begins & ends at the Lake of the Clouds overlook. I hiked it counterclockwise.
Take the Big Carp River Trail west along the Escarpment then down along the river to the Superior Trail, turning left (west). The 1 mile stretch between the Big & Little Carp River Trail has several campsites near the shore of the great lake, with easy access to the beach for splended sunsets.
Day 2 take the Little Carp River Trail past cascades & waterfalls to the Mirror Lake campsites.
Day 3 take the North Mirror Lake Trail a short distance the Government Peak Trail up & over the peak, then it swings south to the Escarpment Trail. Go uphill to a campsite on the east end of the Escarpment.
Day 4 is a four mile spectacular hike on the Escarpment back to LOC overlook. There is time in the day to drive to the west end of the park for the 2 mile loop around both banks of the Presque Isle River, including the Lake Superior shoreline at its mouth.
In my opinion, in the upper Midwest this is rivaled only by Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
