Adirondacks, where knees go to die!
Great photos, beautiful area. For views Pyramid Peak may be my favorite, as well as the north side of Marcy, Gothics, and Rocky Ridge has an excellent exposed ridgeline with nonstop views. Hurricane is superb. Avoid the south descent of Saddleback, its borderline rock climbing and very exposed. One of my favorite hikes in the Adirondacks is not in the high peaks, Crane Mtn is a must, and it's a loop. I've found there is so much great hiking outside of the high peaks, which are often very crowded.

Beautiful photos, a great time of year to be ambling about. Avalanche Lake is stunning in the fall.

the Rocky Peak Ridge add-on, wouldn't be such a bad thing to do in the future You didn't miss anything. Rocky Peak Ridge (RPR) is convenient from Giant, but there's nothing spectacular about that route other than the summit view from RPR. I suggest you do RPR from the east (New Russia). It's a ridge hike with views upon views. Quite possibly my favorite hike in the Adks.

Awsome photos Galiwalker. First time I visited the US a few decades ago I went backpacking in the Adirondacks and had some great natural experiences I still remember, like seeing the humingbirds up close who were attracted to my red rucksack straps, on approaching a small fast flowing stream seeing a black(?) squirrel sat on a mid stream rock taking a shower in the spray, waking up in a three sided shelter and gazing mystified at my hat which I had hung on a nail the night before , the hat was swinging back and forth and as it swung out I could see a pine marten running circles inside, preparing my hot mashed spud lunch some place of trail in the southern maple forests and looking up to see a great grey owl watching me.A place of wonders.
