Is there any interest in a get together for us easterners?

Is there any interest in a get together for us easterners? Get your laptop, go out in your back yard and put up your tent, then fire up "Skype". :^D I'll be right with you. (Sometime in November, when the WX cools a bit.)

I'd be interested if it wasn't too far away.

I'd be interested, in the Fall when temps cool down a little. Oct? After deer season? Maybe in Md or Pa?

Smokies? Mt Rogers? Somewhere along the Blue Ridge Parkway?

Once again, apologies. This is actually a very good idea - perhaps we should have quarterly meetings, or hikes periodically - with a culmination in a relaxing meeting somewhere "easy". I personally really like the look of the Smokies. I read something about "The Tail of the Dragon" recently, and, without any further knowledge of the area at all, it looks really interesting.

Get your laptop, go out in your back yard and put up your tent, then fire up "Skype I don't have a laptop or a backyard. For me anywhere from the smokies to PA would e nice. I know hardly anything about campgrounds in those areas. There is one that is open year round in Maryland It is called Little Orleans Campground: www.littleorleanscampground.com/It is right on the edge of Green Ridge State Forest. Anywhere would be OK with me.

If we do get together maybe we ought to call it Gherkin Gully?

I'd be interested although it's hard for me to find time.

I'd try if it weren't terribly far. Shenandoah would be the southern terminus for me, Pa east of the Alleghenys . I can only take a few long trips a year.

There used to be a group that got together at least once a year in Pennsylvania a few years back.

My schedule is terrible, but I'd make it if I could. South central PA on the AT is nice. Spring could be a good time too, before the heat and humidity. Sort of a cabin fever busting event in early April might be something to think about in northern VA or MD.

I hear good things about Linville Gorge, in N.C., but for this purpose we'd probably prefer a car camp.

Spring is good for me. It’d be a nice start of the bp’ing season, breaking up the cabin fever.
