I've read about it--it seems like one of those "When it's good, it's really good, and when it's bad..." kind of routes. If you can persist through the terrible climb into the hanging valley, the rest is golden.
I'd be very curious to hear any first-hand (or even second-hand) accounts by real hikers who are not guidebook authors. Just how ridiculous is it?
(The climb from the Green River into the hanging valley of Tourist Creek is 1,000+ feet over scree and boulders.)

It's not if you don't mind scrambling over and around boulders, rocks and scree for several hours. Easier going up than down (for me at least). I think I mentioned it on the video but I tried to stay fairly high up on the right side of the creek. Can't say that was the best route, but it's what seemed like it would be easiest from the vantage points I had at the time.
