I am planning to hike about 50 miles of the Florida Trail in January. I'm looking for a new section of trail that I haven't done that will be reasonably warm and have few if any road walks. Also, not looking for a wet section.
Sections I've already done: Ocala NF (Seminole SF to Rodman Dam) Ocean 2 Lake Trail (all / wet) Big Cypress (all / wet) Appalachicola (too cold in January / wet) Forever Florida to Lake Okeechobee (including Avon AFB, Mosquito Hammock, Montsdeoca Ranch and 3 Lakes WMA)
The 50 mile section just North of Rodman Dam looks good except for about an 8 mile roadwalk right in the middle of it.
Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve

Have you seen Johnny Malloy's "Hiking the Florida Trail"? Pretty detailed descriptions of all or most sections of the trail.
