That's a bummer, biffnix . That exact same thing happened to me with my first BeFree, about 3 years ago. At the time there were many reports of that weld failing, and the issue was supposedly fixed. I've had my current BeFree for a little over 2 years, and the bag is going strong. But I have also gotten in the habit of carrying a backup bag, in my case a Hydropak Seeker. Those CNOC bags look really nice, I may wind up picking one up. The long and short of it is that any system can fail. I just returned from a 6 day trip, one person brought a pump (I think it was a miniworks), which failed, one person brought an MSR trailshot, which was extremely slow, and another brought a Sawyer Mini, which worked okay, but was also on the slow side. I wound up using my BeFree to filter most of the drinking water for the whole party during the second half of the trip.
