This past weekend I took the kids to see the Pine Creek Gorge, or the Grand Canyon of PA. The views of the canyon were great and we explored several waterfalls, including an off trail hike to towering Owassee Slide Falls. The best part of the gorge are all its waterfalls and hidden glens. The canyon walls had purplish hue with the green of pine. The gorge is one of the largest canyons in the east; it is almost 50 miles long and 1,500 feet deep at its deepest point. A wonderful place to hike and explore. The kids enjoyed themselves.
