A worker at Belmont is believed to have died from hantavirus. According to the story, there have been five confirmed cases in NY since 1993.
I think frequently about hantavirus when poking about in ruins in the Southwest, but I don't think of it as a risk closer to home.

I think anywhere you have mice would be a risk.

Great. I already harbored an irrational fear of contracting hantavirus, but I was always able to comfort myself by remembering it is a southwestern desert thingy. Until now.
But I'm going to pretend he contracted it in the southwest, then recently moved to NY. Yeah, that's it.
