Last night tried a beer (“Triple Hop’d Lager”) which was a joint effort by Germany’s Bitburger and California’s Sierra Nevada. German beer with a healthy combo of hops at 5.8% ABV ... had some of the hops flavor of an IPA w/o that pine tree like burn. Beer advocate gave it 88/100 and I’d agree that a minimum

Mammoth Brewery Epic IPA and Hazy Little Thing.
In a rut, but that's OK.
Damn we just saw that Bitburger at Grocery Outlet. I was interested but it was a lager. Now we need to go back this week...

It’s been awhile as some of the cheaper double IPAs gave me a headache (read something about hop extract?), so dialing it down to this really good regular IPA from Eliptical called Starburst ...

Napa Valley College winery Cabernet Sauvignon...got great reviews from top wine writers (90 from Robert Parker) and hand made from our own grapes on campus by our students.

I damn near killed someone today. Ostensibly, I work with a lot of smart people. Most are pretty smart, and hardworking as well. A few are exceptional. Then there are the craphead (that's not the actual word I typed) assholes that throw up all sorts of objections at the last minute to something they've known about for months and will be to their own damn benefit.
This is actually her normal behavior. Three people left the team she's on because of this behavior, and I've seen her have the same effect on other teams. And her technical ability, an essential quality, is quite limited. In all of the instances when I've run into her over the years and heard her objections, I've never once heard her back up an argument with rational, precise, quantitative data. Always qualitative. A couple of classics are, "Well, we don't want that" and "Well, I don't like that", with ZERO hard facts to back up her statement.

Goodness, guess you started early this Tuesday... Well, it's after 4pm here on the east coast, and, a couple of beers sounded like they'd calm me down. Just getting away from there helps on days like this.

It's been a long time since I've had some of the magnificent Tadcaster. Not sure that I could handle more than a couple nowadays.

Tadcaster stout and porter are great, been far too long. What I really miss is Old Peculiar from Theakston Brewery.

I've been enjoying a nice "economy" IPA...Kirkland Citra Hop Session IPA. Had one of those and a Hazy Little Thing.
