The North coast climate has its own pecularities -- Eureka/Crescent City. Summer could be a cold drizzling fog at the beach, and a short distance inland, sometimes within walking distance, it is 90+.
That is what restricts the redwoods to a narrow coastal strand. They need the fog. They do not grow any further inland than the summer fog penetrates.

When I used to visit Livermore frequently, my favorite part of the drive from SF was crossing the wall of fog and clouds at Dublin.

It's precisely 10 times 66.6 in Washington DC. But then, that's normal.
(Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Celsius, whatever)

We've had weekly cyclical temperature swings between mid-to-high teens and exceeding thirty (Celsius). Lots of rain to go with it as well. It's been a strange summer thus far. Claim: Mark Twain once asserted “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.” I was in San Diego for several days a couple weeks ago and shocked to find it much cooler than I had anticipated. Barely scraped by 20C most days.

Lots of rain to go with it as well. Had that down here also. My uncle recorded 5" just from Wednesday evening through Thursday evening. Not sure how much more they got Friday - Sunday. The ground is like walking on a wet sponge.
