Good morning! I’ve been home almost a week—how did that happen, and where did the time go? Still working some at getting back to “normal,” but I’d better make plans to get out into the mountains while I’m still fit

Good morning,
I agree with the questioning where time went. Didn’t we just get to 2020 and now only 4 months to 2024? But once again I’m awake and the day ahead isn’t bad. I’ve had a pretty good summer, lots of grandkid time, and here and in Wyoming the temperatures were in my favorite range. I have seen most of my extended family and spent time outdoors and in water and there is still 11 days before I have to buckle down into the school year routine. My oldest son has lived in a wonderful, river side location for 9 years and was just given until January when his landlord is going to sell-so there is stress but time hopefully to find a place affordable and safe for two kids when one is non verbal and a runner.
Anyway, enjoy what is left of August. I am.
Have a good one.

Good morning! It’s kind of overcast and cool this morning; I’ll enjoy it while it lasts, because it won’t last.

Good morning.
It’s quiet here, the same temperature indoors and out - so I’m sitting on the patio with the door open in case the girl wakes up. The only sound is the mourning doves. We had a power brown out yesterday and it killed the coffee pot, so I pulled out the French press from the camping gear. For awhile I was reading a good book but now I’m on my iPad.
Tomorrow I have to drive to Medford and do back to back MRI’s, brain and spine. So today I am trying to pretend summer isn’t ending here.

Good Morning you all, Welcome to September. Strange glitch in my photo that I assume must have somehow gotten stuck partly in photo and partly in panorama mode.

Good morning, Today I had a Chinese mooncake for breakfast, so I know it is truly Autumn. All summer things have been behind season a bit, so my maple tree is only just at the height of its green leaved glory and the pears are almost, but not quite ripe. The naked lady flowers that usually are in full bloom, and are just a mile inland, only popped through the soil a week ago, but already have a few buds ready to explode open soon. I’m getting out and walking a bit more now than a month ago. It helps to have to get going in time to get the girl to school and then have some empty hours. When the silence in the house gets overwhelming, getting out becomes unavoidable

Good morning, Last night I didn’t feel like cooking, so I took the girl and a drive through pizza and went to watch the sunset at our city beach. It was fun, and just after we reached the top of the sea cliff we found a bunch of the naked lady lilies had volunteered just along the ocean side of the cliff. Anyway, she is at school and I’m feeling a bit better. It’s too soon to know for sure, but yesterday I finally started a prescription my neurologist gave me for the neurological pain and it’s the first time any Dr has tried anything except physical therapy. I’m also getting a nerve conduction study scheduled and had the happy news that the physician’s Assistant who told me it’s all in my head, has left the clinic. It’s nice when the Dr. Actually listens and believes me.

October 19 Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the day I moved out of my parents home and into a garage turned one bedroom house in our little Jr. college town in Wyoming. It’s really strange how fast forty years goes past, and how many things have changed since then. But the one constant through all those years is that the guy I moved in with is still sharing all those changes with me. It’s nice to have someone remember the same things from forty years ago, and understand with only a word or glance what I’m referring to. I miss so many of the other people we have shared times with over those decades.

I’ll second that—in-person voters, get out there and save democracy!
As for me—I also voted a week ago. Which is good, because yesterday I got my COVID booster and my second shingles shot. For some reason this morning I’m kind of achey and tired…

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁 If there is anyone on here, pickier than an 8 year old, I hope you find at least one thing to make you say “yes” on your menu today.

Happy don’t-go-near-a-store day, everyone! I’ll just stay tucked in here with my kids and a pile of leftovers. Even the weather says so—two or three days of nice weather have given way to a more normal condition, i.e. rain.

Good morning. We are still tucked away in our rented cabin on the beach. The sons and grandkids came for grandpa’s 60th birthday but most had to go home last night. Elder son is nearly moved into his first “owned instead of rented” house and is pretty happy but exhausted. Daisy and my husband, AKA musicman AKA grandpa, stayed up way late enjoying Elf and then live action Beauty and the Beast, so I’m up enjoying quiet and the sunrise and my coffee. Actually I know this is the pacific so the sunrise is probably much more vibrant from the other side of the cabin, but this view is fine by me.
