My current book isn't about the outdoors. It is called "Bloody Mohawk". A history of the Mohawk river in New York State, from the French & Indian War era through the Revolutionary War era. I picked it up in the Adirondacks this summer when I was camping/ hiking up there on vacation. The greater Mohawk River region area played a huge role in the wars of the mid to late 1700's. So far it is an excellent read.

"Go Set a Watchman" by Harper Lee. So far I'm not that impressed, but maybe it'll get better.

Now reading "Geology Underfoot in Southern Utah", "Ward No. 6 and Other Stories" (Anton Chekhov), and about six other things.

Just finished "Prince of Foxes", a swashbuckling novel of Renaissance Italy. It was fun. I'm currently half way into Kelsey's "Sometimes a Great Notion" as well as rereading "A Sand County Almanac" by Leopold. Been years since I've read that.

Indian Creek Chronicles by Fromm. I enjoyed that book. So much in fact, that I drove to Bozeman last week where he was at a local book store speaking and signing his latest book. Doesn't hurt that I have three kids living there. I enjoyed his presentation.

I recently finished Little Big Man, by Thomas Berger. It is one of the best works of fiction I have ever read. Hilarious, tragic, and very well-researched. Some of the best social/cultural commentary I have ever read. I am currently reading Mother of God, by Paul Rosolie, about exploring remote areas of Amazonia. Just started it, but really enjoying it so far.

I enjoyed the book but please don't think it gives an accurate portrayal of the battle of the Little Big Horn. Remember, it is fiction.

I enjoyed the book but please don't think it gives an accurate portrayal of the battle of the Little Big Horn. Remember, it is fiction. Understood. When I said "well-researched", I meant with regard to the culture and history of the Cheyenne, Crow, etc. That, to me, is part of the brilliance of the book. It is an outrageous tall tale, but much of it could have happened.

I just finished the 4th book by Brent Weeks, Blood Mirror, recently published. Fantasy series set in a culture much like 17th Century Europe. Sadly, it is not the last in the series, so now I have to wait a couple of years for the next installment.

Sounds interesting and a perfect follow up to River of Doubt. I should think so. I'm enjoying the book more and more.
