YES... Tales from Topographic Oceans. Now look what you've done. I'll probably have listen to both that and Yessongs this weekend. Yes was my favorite band during my College Years back in the early 70's up to their release of Relayer. Second fave was Renaissance.... Annie Haslam's has the best voice EVER

I've been to the most recent Pickle Gulch, which was a rather dry affair, and two or three HOTBs, and if anyone got sloppy drunk I didn't notice. Nevertheless, I've heard tales of group enebriation. This could be the theme song for those gatherings.

I saw Wilco last night and wasn't disappointed. It was a high energy show that started very electric and finished with an all acoustic set. A string of new songs to open up and a wide selection of solid songs from their catalog. I couldn't sleep afterwords. The show was opened by a solo guitarist with a lot of electronic tricks. William Tyler is worth checking out.

Gospel doesn't get much play around here but try this:
This is a very young Sam Cooke recorded in the Library of Congress. It's definitely got that blues feel and one of my all time favorite gospel records.

Gospel doesn't get much play around here... I'm a big fan. Let's go back. I think this one dates to the mid 1700s. When you're slaves and have no instruments other than your hands, feet, and voice, you use what God gave you and make truly joyful noises.

you use what God gave you and make truly joyful noises. My mom's family were Old Regular Baptist in eastern Kentucky. I use to watch them dam the creek and do full-immersion baptisms. Looking back it makes me shiver. I remember that the outhouses usually sat on the bank of the creek, upstream.

Another unbelievable cover. This one could bring a tear of joy if you're close to that mood.

Can I join in? Gospel-type theme, but by Springsteen. Land of Hope and Dreams with the last known recording of Clarence in the beginning. Gives me chills. Blessings to you, Big Man. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTDNW9BfzfY

When I was about 12 or 13 I used to drive my parents nuts playing this 45 over and over again.

When I was about 12 or 13 I used to drive my parents nuts playing this 45 over and over again. I was surprised when I learned that the guy who wrote most of Dr. Hook's songs (Shel Silverstein) was also a successful children's book author.
