I hope to see a couple of these creatures on my hike in October but they will be "michigan" elk instead of yellowstone Elk. I'm told I'll be hiking in bugaling season. I hope that's true. This is one of the reason we're going back to the Tetons in a few weeks. We were there in September a couple of years ago and the bugling and elk movement was awesome! There's a part of me that wants to pack my primos elk bugle to help with some photography close ups. I've spent some time in and around Owasso Michigan before and seen one of the biggest whitetails I've ever seen. You guys have some nice wildlife up there.

However, I'm not a hunter and that's a purchase I think my wife would question me on LOL But it is a tempting thought. You guys have some nice wildlife up there. There are plenty of Whitetail that is for sure. I'm hoping to see good wildlife spottings on the hike. If I don't see anything after 7/8 days in backcountry I'm gonna be disappointed.

I like both pics but I really like the one with doe. Those things can run and leap like the wind.

A healthy black bear sow with large cub. Right after this photo the sow climbed the tree she was standing behind...and she climbed rather effortlessly too.

Whitetail Deer, Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming: I was out around Devils Tower last year, in early September, and I couldn't believe how many whitetail I saw going to and from the monument around 5pm. I mean, they were EVERYWHERE. I saw more on that drive back to the highway, then I have seen in my entire life x2. Very strange.

Very nice! How were the bugs? Surprisingly nonexistent. And we had fantastic weather. I think they got some snow in June; that may have helped the bug situation.
