Then where is this pool?
A few hints: it shares the name of a feature in California. And was a key stop for some on the way west... Is this along the Beale Wagon Road?

And was a key stop for some on the way west... I'm not finding anything on the Old Spanish Trail, the Santa Fe Trail, or the Cimarron Cutoff to the Santa Fe Trail. Care to provide more information on the westward trail? From the website: Ancestral Puebloans,Spanish Conquistadores, and American settlers all left their mark No, it wasn't the mark of Zorro, but close ..

If not on it, darn close!

^^ Why some of us proofread our posts. ^^ Yeah--sorry. I have been having some real problems signing in via my desktop over the past two days, and I've been using my phone--which doesn't give me the same prompts or options. I just tried to copy and paste--and it turned out badly. But it also didn't give me the option to edit the post afterwards. I could do that now--my desktop has liftoff--but that would ruin your comment!

Ok, so the photo was taken in New Mexico along the Beale Wagon Road at a location that "shares the name of a feature in California." Below is a map of Federal Lands in New Mexico with the route of the Beale Wagon Road shown by the red dotted line. Hope that helps.

Yep/ Thank you, Travis. Marmotstew, you are up!
El Morro NM is a cool place--Ancient Puebloan Ruins on top, petroplyphs (both Native and European) below. And the day we visited, a really charming group of kids from one of the Zuni schools was on a field trip. What fun!

Fuller Lake - Ice Lakes Basin Right state wrong range. I’m thinking this will be a well educated guess.

I’m thinking this will be a well educated guess. That will leave me out... My response was a clue. One could easily cheat.
