Ha! We've been saying it's been March since February. It's been March since November here.

We have rain! Started yesterday afternoon, up to maybe 1/3” so far, and staying cool overcast, and showery. Relief from the heat is a gift.

2:15 PM and it is 86º, sunny. We had some rain a day ago. Seems like we are moving into the afternoon shower time of year.

Well there's a chilly, damp start to Memorial Day weekend for us in the Valley with mostly rain they say. At higher elevations in the Tetons skiers could get over a foot of snow before it clears out for a toasty high of 36*F on Memorial Day. forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-110.82657407332594&lat=43.71967668309645#.Xscp4kRKiUkI had an awesome hike in 60*F+ weather on Sunday. I was also off tuesday for a fabulous drive and walk up Granite Creek. Gros Ventre Range of your Bridger-Teton National Forest.

Beautiful today but rain in the forecast. Hope so. We're at less than half of our normal precip for the year. Plenty of snow in the mountains yet. Hasn't really been warm enough yet for the spring melt to start in earnest.

That's cool PanatomicX:
That 34.9 inches of water is apparently "105% of normal."

It's currently 35* with mixed rain/snow here this morning... not supposed to warm up until later next week.

Looking at triple digits all week, wtih lows in the low 70s. Makes it very hard to exercise. Normally, I’d head to the pool and swim lots of laps, but of course, that’s out. And I suppose any public beach on Lake Oroville will be overrun, if open at all. Plus, it’s now been nearly 4 months since I swam.

While stumbling around after getting up late this morning, feeling unpleasant, tweaked a few items on the 3 2020 Trip Chronicles pages of my web site that I'd loaded yesterday. Then did laundry that happens every 2 or 3 weeks that included a couple mattress sheets I just do every couple months. Then in an upstairs bedroom, moved all my summer backpacking gear out of a closet then all my winter ski gear back in for a half year of storage. With gear and lots of papers like maps and brochures, and books removed from the floor and organized then vacuumed the upstairs carpets that needed it. So all nicely clean and lots of stuff cleaned up and organized. Then mic'ed the leftover cheese mac I made yesterday so lunch done. Pleasantly still 74F downstairs however that will likely rise up to 80F later.
So what is mr dave going to do after completing his chores this afternoon to celebrate the holiday? Ice cream with ginger ale in a few hours for sure. Now at 1pm web says it is 90F outside so just went out the door to confirm, yep it is. As someone fine with modest dry heat would like to get outside someplace shady and social. Of course stores are mostly closed today, no theaters open during the pandemic, and no usual public celebrations.

We had severe weather in far eastern OKlahoma. Our ordinarily dry creek beside our house, is running, making peaceful noises. We didn't have any problems at our house, but there was hail, wind and a small tornado or two up toward Siloam Springs, Arkansas

Hottest day of 2020 so far. NWS site shows 98F and just 3 miles south near Los Gatos 104F. Worse San Martin in the south county is showing 110F that is hotter than anything showing in the Central Valley. I don't have working air conditioning as freon coolant motor went out a few years ago. After letting cool air flow in from sunrise, temp lowered from an unpleasant 81F yesterday at sunset to 73F but is now 78F and sure to become warmer than yesterday.
Time to go upstairs and snag a special hospital waterbed mattress I bought that I will half fill with cool tap water and then hang out on. Lot of cool drinks at hand. Heat will be short lived through tomorrow and then by Saturday a cold front will drop highs to 70F. Tomorrow, might drive the 35 miles to Santa Cruz where it is currently a cool 70F along the Pacific shore.
