It's been cooler and wetter than normal here in the NE. It's been tough on fly fishing (a naturally socially distanced sport). We had to cancel our trip to Dolly Sods and Shenandoah area for next week. Still hopeful we can go to Lake George and southern Adirondacks early June if the black flies don't take over. Warm winter, cool spring.
My sleeping bag is stuck in San Jose at WM. I sent it in mid-January for some extra down. I'll need that before going anywhere!

After a few days in the 80s, today's high is supposed to be only 72º

The ponds have been a slow start, and the rivers and streams slower. I've been doing very well with warmwater species on the fly rod, but hoping to backpack the float tube in to the LGW and Pharoah Wildernesss ponds, soon. Black flies will be nasty, I bet.

We've been enjoying a nice, moderate and very green Spring; the trilliums in the garden are ready to bloom; violets have been blooming for a few weeks, which with Lunaria create a lovely purple spread in the yard.
Now we're anticipating a plunge down to 29 by Sat. morning, with a wind chill of 21. I'm so glad I've been lazy and haven't planted anything it or I'd be frantically creating tents to cover the tender plants. Snow is possible, according to the forecast.
Michigan has always had changeable weather, but I don't ever recall having freezing temperatures in May. I guess this is another aspect of climate change.

autumnmist, I envy you! While you drop to 29, we are headed for 99. Ugh, ugh, and ugh.

rebeccad, I confess I'd rather tolerate 29 than 99. That's just too hot, too early, or maybe just too hot period.

We’re finally getting some rain after almost none for over a month. It’s raining now and has been since about midnight. Not hard, but steady. It’s very welcome.

Michigan has always had changeable weather, but I don't ever recall having freezing temperatures in May. I've always been told Mother's Day. We're obviously being tested. My living room has been full of plants off of my deck the last few nights. :/

Cool w/ light snow here today. Didn't stick. Spring is desperately "trying" per usual... 28*F tonight.

Pushing 100 here today (probably 95+). I did my ride early, happy that at least this early in the summer it still cools off overnight, in fact still fairly quickly after sundown, so we can cool the house and sleep okay.

And... it's snowing. Still hopeful we can go to Lake George and southern Adirondacks early June if the black flies don't take over. LOL! Good luck with that! They are currently pretty bad here in Central NY.

Will freezing temps take a bite out of them WWBF? I been in the mountains here and seen a hard 22* in July and by 11:00 AM skeeters were back with a vengance.
