...So I had an early interest in Le Tour... during the LeMond years. It's a shame that he was so cursed by bad luck. I think he could/would have won five Tours. Just a great rider he was.

INEOS (Sky) domestiques? They’re the New York Yankees of the present peloton; one huge checkbook. So they buy early contenders like Egan Bernal, or Froome and then throw even more money at the project. A small item: they have a clothes washing truck. No one else does. The result? Zero saddle sores. Their own cooks, kitchen and food supplies. So no food poisoning... that’s all sponsors money supporting and paying for performance.
though Quick Step Floors still wins more races...

I skipped by the first 4+ hours of yesterday's stage, picking up on the second to last climb of the day. Wellens sure showed a lot of determination to be the first to get up the last categorized climb. Then Alaphilippe bursting like a caged animal.

I never seen a single article suggesting that Cadel ever doped but I have seen several suggesting it did not. Remember... to this day... Armstrong has never failed a drug test.

INEOS (Sky) domestiques? They’re the New York Yankees of the present peloton The equivalent would be if each of the Yankees went 5/6 and their pitchers threw a one-hitter every game. They're just too good. Obviously, just an opinion/hunch. But one that I think will be validated some day.

They're just too good. Obviously, just an opinion/hunch. But one that I think will be validated some day. INEOS? Lol. Quick Step Floors beats them regularly during the season as do other teams. So, maybe not. They focus on the Tour and do well, with occasional flurries at Spain and Italy, which they usually lose. I see them as Hendricks Motorsports of NASCAR: Jimmie Johnson won seven championships! Cheating!!!! He hasn’t won a single race in over two years. A team combination works until it doesn’t. INEOS will suffer that reality sooner or later, they all do. Maybe INEOS is cycling’s Mikaela Shiffrin? She’s criticized for not competing in all the races and she counters she enters races to win, so she only enters races she thinks she can win (and she’s phenomenally successful at doing that this way). Maybe INEOS is like that, “showing up” with their full setup and team mainly for the TdF to the detriment of success elsewhere? But for someone with a focus on the TdF, like someone with a focus on women’s slalom, the rate of success could look suspicious. Widen the view and notsomuch.

... and here I am just wishing my DVR had a way to record ONLY the mountain stages ...
Silly, but I know Dish is using Linux "under the hood", but it's severely hobbled. Damn!

... and here I am just wishing my DVR had a way to record ONLY the mountain stages ... Silly, but I know Dish is using Linux "under the hood", but it's severely hobbled. Damn! You could target them specifically? Or my method for oversampling of stuff: hit delete. For myself, whose interest extends beyond my casual concern about the competition to the landscapes and architecture, I find the flat stages when they’ve got more time to “fill” when I get the most culture, architecture & spectacular landscape helicopter shots. In the mountains with people blowing up and dropping off the back or challenging off the front the producers stick with the moto cameras: good human interest bike shots but not much more...

I never seen a single article suggesting that Cadel ever doped but I have seen several suggesting it did not. Remember... to this day... Armstrong has never failed a drug test. Yes he had , it simply was not made public (blood samples from 2009-10 confirmed that) Armstrong paid over one million dollars to Dr M Ferrari, the guy that provided dope to many athlets , mostly cyclists and an extensive cover up had been in place for ages , for example the fact that he avoided beign tested many times by pretending to be elsewhere. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michele_Ferrari11 of his former team mates testified against Armstrong and of course Armstrong himself admitted he was doping for mosr of his careeer. Nothing remotely like that has touched Cadel Evans.

franco... Got it. Every one of the contenders was doping, except Cadel, who was still able to beat them all.
