We pulled off 9 days last summer (briefly had food for 10 days, but ended up coming out a day early). That took our packs to the max; I can’t get food for us below about 1.25-1.5 lbs/person/day. That one I’d gone to the higher end, afraid we’d be too hungry towards the end of the trip. Didn’t need the extra, and took way more fuel than was needed. So I think we could manage 10 days and keep the packs manageable without giving up any of the other comforts/extras (chair kits, journal, e-readers and camera gear).
One thing we’ve learned this year is that we can still do 10+ mile days, which opens up more options without having to do so many days. Still, I think we’ll be looking at some kind of Sierra route (this summer? Maybe not, due to heavy snows) with 2 9-day stretches.

PCT for 5 1/2 months with 25 supply drops at post offices or resorts. Longest individual stretch on that trip was 12 days. In India, I had one 21-day trek. But, we had hired ponies and a ponyman to haul the bulk of the gear/food. In duffel bags.

IIRC think my longest was 20 or 21 days in Yellowstone back in the 70s. Much of that was off-trail solo. Yeah, the pack weight was brutal. But I was younger then...
Absolutely no desire to try that again. I will leave that kind of adventurous masochism to the younger set.

I was out for 13 days in the Winds a couple years ago. I would probably consider 2 weeks my max, unless I were to rely very heavily on caught fish for food.

This is just a few out of dozens. I don't really see the point of backpacking into a backcountry area unless it's a long unsupported trip. I call it Expedition Backpacking. Would I be correct in assuming that you don't have a partner and children? Forgive me. The question is partly asked out of envy. I would also like to add that I am amazed that you have your hikes all numbered like that. I couldn't even begin to guess how many backpacking trips I have gone on in my life. Mine were definitely shorter and more numerous.

Mine were definitely shorter and more numerous. I do have a wife and we reached an agreement long ago about my long trips. What's most amazing is she's still my partner when I get home . . . and hasn't found someone else. I didn't start numbering my backpacking trips until the year 2001---so all thru the 1980s and '90s I did trips too but never intended to keep a trip blog. One time me and my backpacking buddy Johnny B spent 5 weeks in Pisgah NF along Upper Creek and Harper Creek etc---but we resupplied once a week on Fridays . . . Here's Johnny B in Pisgah circa 1986--- We built several sweatlodges and fired them up next to the creek. The glory years.

I had planned for a seven day trip, but caught in a Nor'easter that had me tent bound for an additional two days.

10 days in the Adirondacks in the winter. Lot of food and fuel. Add in snowshoes and crampons and it was a pretty serious load and going in, the heaviest, is uphill. Base camping. I bought a tow sled after that thinking I don't want to do that again. I never used the sled until years later with my kids nor did an unsupported trip that long again.
