Thanks, both of you! I tried to select a variety of photos, to keep the calendar interesting. I'd taken quite a few 'selfies' this year, a number of which I really liked, and I had to fight myself to only choose a few of them. Ditto with the bird pics. Ditto with the waterfall pics (I even threw out a photo of my favorite waterfall seen this year).

Woah, that's what I really like about this forums. The beautiful pictures and sceneries that I've never been too! Btw, do the waterfall in October picture looked like that? So awesome :O

Btw, do the waterfall in October picture looked like that? Do you mean, did the water look like that? It's a long exposure, so no, but then you can't really capture a waterfall with a (still) camera the way your eye sees it. And yes, the photo was taken in October, 2.5 weeks ago.

I came up upon that pool by accident. It was late afternoon, I only had a couple of hours to cram in a hike with a sunset and had no set destination in mind. As I drove past the Little Stony Man trailhead I decided to hike up to Stony Man from there, because that way I'd be able to tuck in both viewpoints. I had never been to the former, and as I hiked past it and saw the small pool I stopped immediately; I knew this was the spot from where I would catch the sunset.

I don't usually do a calendar, but I do a heavily-illustrated newsletter, so I go through a similar selection process. In my case, though, I'm partly looking for good photos of all family members, preferably engaged in something interesting. It's getting harder, as the nearly-grown offspring are away so much; Second Son hasn't done a real vacation with us in 4 years :(

I do a scrapbook type calendar with only 1/4 of the space used to print a fav picture from the past and space to put in two or three new ones with double stick tape and some journaling in the calendar grid. I’ve done it since 1999 when a company printed scrapbooked calendars but now they don’t so I use Walgreens four photo layout and only put pictures in one space per page. these are the 11 I’ve chosen so far
