zeke...Greg johntpenca I live on the alluvial fan of Mount Tom. So I see it every day unless it is under cloud cover. I see it and White Mountain from the couch in the winter (no leaves on the trees.) I don't know if another Kmart in the country has such a good view from the front doors. Easiest climbed from Horton Lakes. In my opinion, the best view is from the Sherwin Grade. I think that the most difficult peak that I have been up, as far as approach, was Williamson.

Just always thought the north ridge is the most elegant line. Well familiar with the Sherwin grade. Never been up Williamson, so it is out of my reference.

These photos take me to a peaceful place. Does anyone have any location suggestions for my next shoot?

Does anyone have any location suggestions for my next shoot? Hi. Welcome to the forums. Which part of the world are you interested in capturing? Themes, locations, events?

No, gabby, what you smell is a misguided FB personality looking to get more attention. She listed a ph number with her post, that was edited out.

Lavender fields in Sequim, Washington. Is it ok if there are people in the picture?

I'm just now looking at this thread for the first time since I posted an image way back on May 18, 2018 and notice most of the images offered have unusable dimensions of key content in order to crop and then scale to the approximate 2:1 width versus height ratio of the target header space. Rebecca clarified that in the middle of the thread on page 6 and bp2go first mentioned that lower down on page 1. The actual cropped and downsized header image on the page currently is 425 by 200 pixels.

Tigger takes care of the actual cropping, but the image does need to be capable of being cropped to the 2:1 aspect, which is not what most images are composed to be. Tigger sifts the posted images for ones that will fit the space and appeal, but his job will be easier if people try to visualize how their photo would work cropped to those dimensions. So as an example, this won’t work, no matter what he does, because the whole interest is vertical.
This one could be cropped to work, since the main interest is the colored stones across the middle:

I had a very tough time picking one from my recent Winds trip--decided on this one:

Tigger takes care of the actual cropping, That would be Deborah who does the actual cropping. The current winner selects the next image. The image that Tigger has changed is the background. Tigger does other things around here, that I don't get involved in, as do you and Zeke.

I totally forgot that you were doing this, and just lumped it with the other programmy tasks. In fact, I forgot we were having the winner select the next image, too. I think I got it right about needing images that lend themselves to a 2:1 ratio...
