Reminder: BOOKMARK this site! You won't be able to search for it for weeks to come, but there is a link on BP.com.
Trailhead Register is so firmly locked in the minds of all that trying to change it is probably a fail waiting to happen. I don't stand at a trailhead to have discussions about things. I meet up or simply sign in and I'm up the trail. Fine. I know this is all just a loose analogy, so I'll resist trying to change the use of TR as the sort of "junk drawer" for topics that people just want to share.
I'm putting the Good Morning thread up high because, for those who don't know, MatahariHiker was a well-thought-of member, avid hiker and friend to many until she lost her fight to be healthy and cancer took her life. She started the original Good Morning thread years ago, then some ^%$# spammer posted a few giant files that defied my efforts to remove them! Frustrated, I removed the whole thread and then started a V 2 which is now years old. It needs to stay, even as the long collection will not be moved into this forum. It will grow again, new folks won't quite get it but they can jump in.
Photos seem to want to be close to the TR. It was once suggested thet Trail Reports ought to be in their own place, I tried that, people hated it. Reports will end up posted in the TR, and authors mark them "TR: Sand Dines" or whatever. The TR is well understood.
Hiking Partners also gets moved to be in the Discussion area because it's where people meet. I have been helping people who post in the broken forum, this will be easier for people to actually find others IMHO. It can always be moved.
Storytelling, goes with TRs and Photos.
Politica Arenal doesn't go anywhere I wish it were gone! I so wish I'd never created it but it started as a place to discuss; the problems with draining Hetch tetchy, houseboats on Lake Powell, and strip mining in VA. Alas, it became a slugfest when people went to promote or dispise candidates. I can't remove it, so it's just at the bottom of discussions, and what a wonderful thing it will be.

Gear Closet just sounded right. We used to get company reps to come by and answer questions. MSR was great, but as the sales rep moved on. Now we depend on some very knowledgable hikers who are a terrific resource...If we can get them back! (I think they will return; word will get out!)
All the other categories will be added. The Destinations will be listed as Sub Categories in a drop menu when I get the code for that.
So there's a guide to how I'm thinking, now you can offer opinions. Please!
